I got a 1966 Jazz Bass from someone who inherited it in the 90`s and didn`t know much about it except that he thought the Fender decal had been replaced. It`s a really nice deep finish showing lots of wood grain so would have been done by someone who really knew their stuff. The hardware is in really nice shape. The pick guard is a replacement. I know it has to be a refin mainly because it looks way too minty to be original but I`d like to know if there`s any good way to know for sure for sure. Thanks! |

The only way to get a new decal from Fender is to send them the serial # and pics of it being restored. So ask Fender if a decal was issued to that serial number. |

My guess based on the pics is that the instrument was in vg condition and was over sprayed with a fresh clear coat and buffed. |
